do, and anything else we think you would like to know about the Black
Gold Barrel Bonanza and the Village of Oil Springs. Wherever
possible, we have provided links to other websites as well as directions
to some of the places mentioned. We
will be updating as more information becomes available.
Food
In Oil Springs – Talula's – restaurant
located in the heart of the village.
- Oil Springs Service Centre – licensed eatery, gasoline,
variety store
- Black Creek Golf Course – daily specials, licenced
- Oil Springs Food Market – grocery store, liquor & beer
outlet, videos, etc.
- Oil Springs Firemen – Saturday night Fish Fry.

In Oil Springs – small campground just north
of the arena, water & hydro hook-ups available.

We recommend you be prepared for rough camping
at the site. Portable washrooms will be available on the show
grounds.
Activities
Black Gold Barrel Bonanza – barrel racing
throughout the weekend. Watch the fast horses and skillful
riders compete
for cash and prizes.
Oil Museum of Canada – tour the history
of the beginnings of the oil industry.
Tour the Oil Fields – daily horse-drawn
wagon rides with interpreter through the major oil fields.
Golf – Black Creek Golf Course (5 min. away)
9 hole course, can be challenging
Car Show – Saturday.

Hay – delivery to show site available
from local supplier.
Shavings – Zavitz Mobile Feeds
Stalls – Limited amount available.
$85 for the weekend, includes 2 bags shavings. Call for details,
these are going on a first come, first paid basis.
